Every wine we make is a labour of love – grown in the unique Voor Paardeberg terroir near Paarl, the Swartland and Cape Town, rooted in ancient wine-making traditions, and inspired by our South African and Irish heritage. The vines are grown with care and attention in their natural biodynamic environment, which gives them the freedom to express their genetic character as well as exposure to full-bodied fruit flavours. We’ve planted our first vines in 1995. Since then, we’ve embraced innovation, expanding our collection with standout white wines like Chenin Blanc, Grenache, and Roussanne, along with captivating reds such as Grenache Noir and Durif. Geography
The Paarl wine district is north of Stellenbosch. It’s near Wellington to the northeast. The area is surrounded by the Groot and Klein Drakenstein and Franschhoek mountains to the southeast.
Climate
The Paarl region has a hot and dry climate, with little rain during the summer months. Dry farming is common, and the Atlantic sea air plays a crucial role in moderating the intense summer heat.
Terroir
The terroir naturally gives hearty, concentrated but fresh wines, ideal for serving with a variety of dishes including barbecued meats, game, and even bush meat!
